Updates to my home network/lab

Pancake

I posted a long time ago, but a lot has changed since then

First, specs (Pictures below)

The rack is 2 x IKEA Rast nightstands - http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/44361109/ on top of each other, with rails installed. I do wish I had a legit rack, but the space I have to work with isn't great

The rack is un an unventilated closet, but I did drill some vent holes in the door!

Starting from the top to the bottom:

* 3.5" Hard Drive cases. Great for moving drives and off-site backup

* Ripe Atlas Probe
* USB-C 3.1 SATA Dock. This is plugged into the Synology. I use this for off-site backup
* Cisco SG300-28P Switch with Monoprice SlimRun 6a cables (all 5ft)
* Cheapo brush cable management from eBay
* Synology DS1817+ (8GB RAM, Around 30TB Usable with SHR2)
* 4TB Easystore for on-site backups

Then we have my ESXi box, Supermicro 512-200B Chassis with the PWM Blower fan

* Intel Xeon E3-1270 V2 3.5GHz (4C/8T)
* SUPERMICRO MBD-X9SCM-F-O (dual LAN, IPMI etc)
* 4 x 8GB Crucial UB-ECC DDR3 1333MHz (32GB Total)
* Samsung SM961 256GB NVMe SSD (For prod VM's)
* 1u M.2 NVMe Riser - 253179173290?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_
* Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SATA SSD (For testing VM's)
* 1u Supermicro 200w PSU 80+
* Supermicro RSC-RR1U-E8 1U 8x Riser
* Intel I350-T4 Quad Port NIC (4 x 1Gbit in a LAG)
* HP 8GB Flash Drive (ESXi Boot)

Then pfsense, same chassis

* Intel Xeon E3-1220 V2 3.1GHz (4C/4T)
* SUPERMICRO MBD-X9SCM-F-O (Dual LAN, IPMI etc)
* 2 x Samsung 4GB DDR3 1333MHz UB-ECC (8GB Total)
*  2 x Hynix 32GB SATA M.2 in a mirror
* Vantec Dual M.2 to SATA
* 1u Supermicro 200w PSU 80+

Continue:

* CyberPower PDU15M2F10R PDU - Has a readout with the amps, and a decimal. Too many just give you 1 digit which is useless since there is a MASSIVE power different between 1.0A and 1.9A.... The front outlets are great for temporary items, or plugging in a laptop if need be
* APC SMT1000RM2U 700w UPS + AP9631 SNMP Card

Outside the rack:

* UniFi AP AC Pro Outside - I hate this thing.

Virtual Machines:

* PowerChute - Prebuilt CentOS VM for shutting down ESXi host and VM's on power failure. Connects to APC SNMP Card
* BK01 - WS2016 - Runs Stablebit CloudDrive connected to OneDrive/Sharepoint. Then I use Arq to backup to there. Also runs Veeam and a few scripts to do other backup related tasks
* DL01 - Ubuntu Server 16 - Runs Deluge - This VM can only get internet over the VPN to PIA
* MS01 - PLEX, Sonnar, CouchPotato, Cardigann etc
* MON01 - LibreNMS, UniFi, Graphna (Working on it!)
* NVR - Blue Iris for my 2 IP Cams (More when I get a house!)
* MyName-VM - Windows 10 Enterprise - Used for RDP, just general stuff

All of these are on the NVMe SSD. Test VM's go on the SATA SSD

Awesome setup, very clean, I like it!

I'd completely forgotten about RIPE Atlas Probes. I remember wanting to get one a while back and then never did. Just submitted my application :)

Thanks!

Only just over 1000 of them in the USA, I figured I should do my part. Took around a week to arrive from The Netherlands
