Full phone theme change

Dear LinusTechTips forum,

 

I am the proud owner of a Samsung Galaxy S5, but I want something different than the standard S5 launcher.

I want a something that changes the theme of my whole phone, so not only the homescreen.

 

Can you guys please help me out.

You could try a custom rom like lineage os

I've personally tried and I think it's an absolute piece of garbage and just looks clunky. I'd say the correct route to go is just root your phone. There are many programs that do one-click roots for free.

We all have our tastes. For me, it's perfect and its design is outstanding.

On the s6 there is the samsung themes app that allows to do just that. Isn't that also present on the s5?

Somewhat yes and yes.

It obviously doesn't change how apps look, it just changes homescreen, menu, additional side panels etc. And bring more features. You can check the screenshots in the playstore.

I downloaded it and it looks pretty nice. But I'm actually searching for a launcher that changes the look of the whole phone so also the apps and phone settings. Is that possible with a app or do I need to give my phone a custom android version?

Then a custom rom is a way to go as @Vernw3 mentioned before.

Do you have a tutorial, so I do not f**k up my phone. I already tried a custom rom once but I did not work out great.
