Hey guys,

What would perform better, 2x 240 rads 30 mm thick, a 480 rad 30 mm thick or a single 240 rad 60 mm thick, if they have the same FPI? And if I use the same 4 fans for all three rads, shouldn't it theoretically be the same performance? How about noise level?

My setup: i5 3570K  - Corsair H100i - MSI Z77 GD65 - 256 GB Samsung 840 pro SSD - Corsair AX760i - Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce 2GB - 4x4 GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer RAM - Corsair Carbide 500R (modded side window)

They should theoretically be the same. Whichever you choose would just depend on placement of the rads.

A single thick rad would probably work best since the push/pull can compliment each other to only keep the air flowing instead of a single push or pull for separate thin rads that would have to 'start over' with stagnant air. I'm not sure how much this would help but you could probably run the fans more slowly and keep the same performance this way.

The 60mm 240 rad will not perform the same as a 30mm 480 rad. Thicker radiators only slightly increase performance but they do make the radiator perfrom better over a wider range of fan speeds. Thinner radiators tend to be designed to perform best at certain fan speeds.
