you mean buying compute power from AWS or so, and then having it mine for you?

doesn't matter, you can do it on a pentium 4, just needs internet connection and a web browser to manage it i guess.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

I just got the ASUS Prime z370-A with i7-8700K, I would like to overclock it since I do cloud mining.

What RAM speed should I choose for overclocking, is the DDR4 2400 good enough or get the 3000?

ram speed doesn't matter too much with coffee lake, and even so you can still overclock most ddr4 2400 close to 3000 mhz

omg I'm thinking of getting the exact same setup but for Ram I'll have to go low profile cause my heatsink is massive.

How's the motherboard?! Do you like it? What's your purpose of your build?

The board is great, feature rich. Cloud mining and general purpose, running few VMs. I went with Noctua NH-D15.

Nice! I'm thinking of light streaming, some video rendering, gaming and just general multitask. I really wanted the mobo just for the audio over the P suffix and I've had quite good experiences with Asus so... :D

Plus, the board and cpu is hackintosh compatible too.

Best reasons to fiddle around! I didn't know that haha but I do like fiddling around with tech even if it means I'll break something (not to the point it's unusable of course) and then making it all work somehow. Just all learning.
