help choosing a card

I want to upgrade my graphics card but not sure which i should purchase any advice would greatly appreciated.

AMD phenom x4 965 black edition @3.5 ghz

gigabyte fxa 990ud5

Adata premier PRO sp900 64gb SSD X 2 (raid 0 boot)

MSi R6950 Twin Frozr II HD 6950 2GB OC edition

Corsair Vengence Ram  8 GB @1600

Coolmax ZX series 700W 80plus certified PSU   

 

 

I was looking at possibly going with 2 660ti in sli.

also looking to liquid cool in the near future so I want to make sure I can get cards that I can find the proper waterblocks for. Thanks in advance for any help in furthering my build.

I would say go for something like a GTX 780 or GTX 770, if you can find them the R9 280X or R9 290. I would also recommend a complete system upgrade. I say this because there maybe some bottle necking.

Your CPU won't help you with 660Ti SLI, you would see a large bottleneck.

well 660ti will basically beat anything u can get for the price at 1080p but once u start going to higher res u will see cards like 780 and 290 pull away because of there memory bus and the amount of vram they have.

Buy a single more powerful GPU rather than 2 mid range ones, you should only SLI two lower end GPU's if you can only afford them separately.

A 650 watt psu will run 760/770 SLi without issues, just make sure it is a solid quality unit.

I would like to recommend the Coolermaster V700, it is a seasonic made PSU, so quality is assured, it is a fantastic unit, and is usually found for a good price.

 

If not, this is a monster for the price.

So after including CPU and PSU upgrades that should be enough for maybe an R9 290 once they come back down in price Then you could grab a second one in the future.
