How do they connect all the fans?

Go to solution Solved by MkaiL,

Well it says it right there: Pin 4 PWM Speed Control

CPU_FAN and SYS_FAN 1 to 4 are all pwm.

Hi :)

When I see a watercooling system with 10+ fans, I am always wondering how can they connect so many fans. Could someone explain?

So true it hurts

Hubs on hubs.

How are they connected? On the motherboard fan header?

Normally, yes. Mine was a bad example since that's actually a fan controller that connects to the USB header on the mobo.

Thanks. Last question, I am seeing that on top of being connected to the sata port, the fan hubs are connected to a motherboard header, but which one? I am talking about this hub(considering buying 2 of them) : https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811999340&cm_re=pwf_hub-_-11-999-340-_-Product

If you power the hub, then you can use any PWM port really. Just not any of the full speed ones meant for pumps.

Thanks for the fast response. I have another question though, are my fan headers pwm so that they can be used by the hub?

They are 4 pin headers but that's not a guarantee that they are pwm controlled. You'll have to take a look at your mobo's manual.

That’s what I could find.
