So i dont know for sure if anyone can help me but here goes.

My pc is kinda low end for gaming and i understand it wont run games fantastic but im having issues.

I really wanna get better fps on my main games i play mostly Ark and i know ark isnt completely optimized perfectly but still.

Anyways heres my specs

Amd fx6300

Gtx 750ti

4 hard drives kinda shitty and this might be one of my issues but they are

500gb

80gb

250gb

250gb

None of those are SSDs

680 watt psu

12gb DDr3

Anyways i just want to know if maybe its me having some crappy hard drives from like 2007 lmao or if its maybe my low end ddr3 i dont think its very high mmhz so maybe thats it? idk im just looking for maybe some suggestions i dont have much money to work with but i cant stand like studdering in ark and sometimes 30fps on all low settings

Open task manager to the "processes" tab when playing the game and see which section is hitting 100%. This is what they call your "bottleneck".

Once you know what is hitting 100% all the time, you can fix/replace that to improve your overall performance until the next bottleneck.

Hey thanks for replying @MrDrWho13 i have done this multiple times and its mostly the hard drive itself but also the 750ti will be at 97 or 100% and i just think that this card should be able to run it at low settings but i may be wrong but i do think its the hard drive itself cause there old and crappy

Looking at the minimum system requirements, this is a very resource intensive game: http://store.steampowered.com/app/346110/ARK_Survival_Evolved/

I have a similar system to you and have played Just Cause 3 which seems to be similarly demanding. On the lowest settings, I get 20-40fps so I wouldn't expect much more from ARK.

An SSD would definitely improve overall performance by a lot but I'm not too sure how much it would improve performance of that game.

If you go for an SSD, 240GB is the absolute minimum IMO. With that you can install Windows and a couple of games but if you have a large steam library you would still need some on your HDD. Aim for 500GB if it's within your budget.

From what i can see the cpu isn't that bad

it'll mostly be the hard drives and gpu that'll be slowing that machine down. plus whatever settings you are trying to run the game at. I'm not sure if you're leaving the AA AF or vsync on or something.
