Windows 7 reinstall question

Hi guys,

 

Thinking about doing a windows reinstall to hopefully fix my long boot time. After I reinstall windows can I just run a restore from a backup so I don't have to reinstall programs and redo any settings?

Yep you can restore backups, but if you want a faster boot time, just clone to ssd, that will make a huge difference.

You were in my other thread about the sata ssd to m.2 SSD swap. Cloning might've been the issue.

cloning won't cause this ssd, the os doesn't know its been cloned.

 

A m.2 won't be much faster, if not slower.

If software are the issue, restoring then will just restore issue too. Smart but annoying thing would be to backup all config data and reinstall software as you go along.
