Tax Return AMD Build

So I have a friend of mine that wants to get into PC gaming with me, but wanted to do an all AMD build (I think it's because he wanted to get a FreeSync monitor instead of paying extra for a G-Sync). He ended up getting about $2000 back on his taxes, and needed a new setup. I was trying to leave about $2-300 so he could get a desk and chair for his house, and he wanted a bit of RGB added to it. Here's the part list I have so far:

PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fKh6MZ
Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fKh6MZ/by_merchant/

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 7 1700 3.0GHz 8-Core Processor  ($279.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus - STRIX B350-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($111.88 @ OutletPC)
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory  ($169.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung - 960 EVO 500GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive  ($199.99 @ B&H)
Video Card: MSI - Radeon RX 580 8GB Video Card  ($369.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Fractal Design - Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case  ($69.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Power Supply: Corsair - CSM 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($59.99 @ Newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft - Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit  ($89.89 @ OutletPC)
Case Fan: Corsair - HD120 RGB 3-Pack w/Controller 54.4 CFM  120mm Fans  ($73.99 @ Amazon)
Monitor: MSI - Optix MAG24C 23.6" 1920x1080 144Hz Monitor  ($237.99 @ Newegg)
Keyboard: Corsair - K65 RGB Wired Gaming Keyboard  ($73.07 @ Amazon)
Mouse: Corsair - Sabre RGB Wired Optical Mouse  ($39.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $1776.75

Let me know if I should swap anything out to try to save him some money, and the RX 580 8GB I found on Newegg, it just wasn't showing up on pcpartpicker.

You could save a bit by getting a Ryzen 5 1600 as that will likely serve all his purposes.

I didn't think about that, that does shave about $100 off

I would swap out that Corsair CSM psu for a Seasonic Focus Gold which is much better. You could also save on the SSD by going with a SATA such as the 850 EVO or Crucial MX300 etc.

I haven't built using the Seasonic PSUs before, how's their quality? Also I haven't had a chance to compare M.2 vs SATA in gaming to see if it's worth the extra $70, but I just chose that because I use a 960 Evo in my rig and have been happy with it (I also do 4K video editing with mine, but I doubt he'll be doing that on his).

It's already out of stock, something's up with Newegg's listings. I just checked the price on two items in my cart and they shot up $200. I may have to hit up Craiglist for a GTX 1060 6GB or something. I've seen a few around me for about $350.

The Seasonic Focus is very good. Has a 10 year warranty as well. If you want Corsair then the TXM or RMx would be my suggestion.

There isn't really any difference in day to day usage between a SATA and NVMe SSD. If your Friend is just gaming then a regular SATA will do fine.
