Dell Inspiron 17 5000's Dedicated GPU not kicking in

pxnguinPr3

Hi, for several months i've been troubled with a severe lack of gpu power on my laptop, Stuck in Intel HD Graphics, my laptop will not use its dedicated GPU, Apparently its some dell thing, if anyone knows how to do it, i'd love some help,

I've done all the obvious things like, changing all the options to  'HIGH POWERED NVIDEA GRAPHICS CARD'  Now if thats not a buzz phrase i dont know what is.

Anyway, Any help without bricking my laptop would be greatly appreciated.

Hi.

Have you tried doing a reinstall of GPU drivers? That's what helped me, when my dedicated GPU decided to not to work. I had to completely remove GPU drivers then use some old drivers from setup CD which I got with the notebook and then update those old drivers.

You can also use MSI Afterburner to check if your GPU is working or not

If that doesn't work, check your BIOS settings
