APU computer worth it? What are the best componets?

Hello everyone. This is my first topic on the forums since I joined fairly recently. Now as you can see on my profile I already got a nice computer but I want to build a new APU computer since I have never done this. I'm gonna put SteamOS on it and play with a Ps4 controller, like a consol but more fun. I want to be able to play games on maybe low-medium settings and figuered a APU rig would give you a good and cheap option. Unfortuantely I don't know much about APU's but that's why I am asking you:) Basicly I am building a HTPC computer.

If you´re building an HTPC based on a APU you will need a solid RAM configuration, so don´t cheap out on your RAM and choose carefully..

So what you're saying, is that you're building a home theater personal computer computer?

I personally don't enjoy 9-string guitars, but that doesn't change the fact that they look awesome as hell!

Right now SteamOS doesn't work with AMD GPU's.

Well that sucks:/ Any other suggestions or if I should just wait till they make it available for AMD?

you could always just get like windows 7 64 bit OEM key for free or buy and run steam in big picture, pretty much same thing as Steam OS!

Steam big picture mode is designed for tv use with a controller.

Galaxy: Intel i7 3770k @ 4.5Ghz (Cooled by a h105) - ASUS Sabertooth Z77 - Corsair Vengeance 8gb Ram - Nvidia GTX 780 2 way Sli - Corsair HX850i - Corsair C70

Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Battlefield 4 Collectors Edition (TO BE REPLACED BY K65 RGB) - Logitech G502 - Hyperx Cloud

yeah but thats not a complete OS so I would still need to use keyboard and mice to launch, log in, do other stuff on like windows 7

You still need keyboard and mouse with Steam OS from what I've seen, it will be changed I think when it gets more features added.

An APU is great for a HTPC, not for gaming though.

I suggest grabbing an FX 4130 and a dedicated 7750 or 7770.
