x62 Kraken scared the hell out of me

Just finished a brand new build for my girlfriend with a x62 Kraken AIO, powered the system up and the pump/display started smoking immediately. Needless to say I went full panic frantically cutting the power and checking to see what was damaged. Fortunately the CPU and Mobo appear to be fine, while the cooler is functioning on its default mode the LEDs are super dim and it's definitely not connecting through the USB so something got fried inside the unit for sure.

 

Found someone that had the same thing happen here as well as a couple posts on other forums which alleviates some of my worries that I messed up. As far as I can tell everything was installed 100% correctly as I've handled more than a few AIOs, I guess I'm mainly looking to see if this has happened to anyone with a brand new cooler and how they went with the returning it.

Best thing to do is open a RMA/Support ticket with NZXT to get the unit replaced. Thats the only option/answer here.

Yep figured as much. Going to return it to the shop as they have a good warranty policy and should sort me out with an advance return.
