I've been getting screen freezes during gameplay and sometimes even blue screens with the error video_tdr_failure(nvlddmkm.sys). After checking out event viewer i've found that the error has to do something with my display and the nvlddmkm error but I don't really know how to fix it by myself.

Things i've tried:

  • Reinstalling Drivers
  • Trying older and newest version of drivers

My setup:

  • GTX 1060 6GB
  • AMD Ryzen 5 1500X
  • ASUS VG248QE
  • 16 GB RAM
  • Windows 10

Did you uninstall Nvidia driver in safe mode and preferably using DDU ? If so don't read below...

If not please look for DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and use it in safe mode.

(You can get into safe mode by holding shift and click on restart)

Then reboot to normal mode and install fresh drivers.

By googling around a bit the only thing I found there is some post  from November, December and January there was numerous report of this issue using windows 10 (no real solutions other then reinstalling driver and there is no report back if it worked or not). Let's wait for someone that knows more about this issue.

Sorry, I couldn't help you.
