I'm planning on building a new PC for Christmas which my parents are going to put some money towards it.  It will be for 1080p gaming and personal use.  I wouldn't mind overclocking it and having a bit of a play around with it but it wont be anything major.  I willbe looking to crossfire sometime in the future when I need a little bit more performance.  I also prefer a smaller form factor like Micro-ATX so i can take it to friends places more easily.  This is why I went with the Intel route as they have more options. I need a OS and would prefer Windows 8.

I have got a list of parts which i think is good for what i want but i need to cut the price down too around $1000(AUD). As i still need a monitor and keyboard.

This is the list of parts that i have come up with so any tips on cutting the price down a little without sacrificing too much performance.

Also about the Prodigy M cooling, what configuration of fans do you recommend?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Are you open to other Aus shops or are you limited to pccasegear?

Would recommend the CX750 Modular over the non-modular, just for cleaner cable management.

Edit: And also for gaming I would go for Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

Most games have compatibility issues with Windows 8.

I was looking at that one but longer graphics cards in this case can block one of the rows of modular connectors.

P.S. Windows 7 Ultimate is about $95 dollars more which doesn't seem worth it.

No game has any compatability issue with windows 8, windows 8 is proven to perform better on games. Windows 7 'ULTIMATE' Wouldn't be worth it for sure

Only changes I would recommend would to get a modular PSU (for reference: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_995&products_id=15350 I got my PSU for around $120 so look around and you should find nice deals) and get a different hard drive, the Barracuda has this annoying spin up sound and is on the loud side (compared to a WD Green, WD Black and some other random hard drives I found) - a WD Blue might be the best choice since it is from a reputable brand/known to be good for it's price.

EDIT: After some thought, I think the PSU is a nice choice if you're not going to install a windowed side panel.

The Black is quite louder then the barracuda. I've had a good number of barracudas myself and I don't think they're that loud. You might just have a bad drive.

PC case gear but if you can recommend another reliable cheaper option I'm open to suggestions.

You need to quote a post or tag a member or else they won't get a notification you replied to them.

Your budget is too small to allow for future crossfire.

Weird.... then again I do have PC sitting right next to my head (it sits on my desk since it's small enough to) - to be honest the noise is bearable :3

My friends WD Black is stupid quite considering it's a WD Black, I was legitimately surprised at how quite it was when I had built his rig and played around with it.
