I have a Sony a6300, and want to use my Poweradd battery bank to charge it through USB while using it, but the max output on the poweradd is 3.4 Amps. Is this too much or dangerous to use, or will the camera just draw what it needs?

Thanks

You don't need to worry, the camera will draw whatever it needs too.

It will just draw what it needs. Does not matter if you get a 1 Amp powerbank or a 10 Amp powerbank.

Okay, thanks guys!

a 1A powerbank cannot supply 10A

Yes? that was not the point i was making.

The OP asked if the 3.4Amp device could hurt his camera (which charges at ~ 1Amp if i am correct)

Me and Theguywhobea said that that would not matter as the camera would just get what it needs. So regardless if the Powerbank was 10 Amps or 1 Amp the camera would just use 1 Amp.

Edit: @thom derksen :D np
