Duaboot issues

hi,i dualbooted windows 10 and ElementaryOs (Linux Distro).

But when i start Elementary Os it takes a lot of time considiring windows 10 time

And also i have its logo popping every second. Can you help pease

Did you install windows first? so then the boot manager would be GRUB when you installed Elementary.

When you boot up does it show the GRUB menu where you can choose windows or elementary?

yes i  installed windows first to partition the disk

and it shows the grub menu

I don't understand completely what you mean by this?

 

Do you just mean it takes a long time to boot into elementary? or that it stays on the grub menu for a while?

 

When it gets into elementary is it working OK?

 

What system specs have you got?  Just want to know what you're working with here?  Also does it work in windows OK?

no i mean when i click elementary option it takes about 3 or  4 min to load the OS

OK, 1 thing I could be how you installed elementary.. did you install windows in UEFI/GPT scheme? if so, I'm not sure if installing elementary with bios/mbr would cause this behaviour. So maybe try installing elementary again, and make sure you set the scheme to UEFI/GPT when making the bootable USB installer... I use rufus for example Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way

i don't know what sheme i installed windwows but i use universal usb installer for inux and rufus for windows

If you have a spare USB, try installing elementary again using UEFI/GPT in rufus settings.

OK, did you try F11 option during boot, then select the USB, make sure it says UEFI USB, as you can still boot bios USB because most motherboards have CSM even though they are UEFI now.

Ahh, just remembered something, did you disable secure boot in the UEFI as most laptops come with that enabled as default now IIRC.

You'll have to quote me, or I won't see your response usually... the F11 option is during the splash screen when it first starts booting. But check the UEFI first.

Try changing options in UEFI then if you can... to have the USB be first priority in boot order. Then try again with the USB drive... other than that I can't say what's wrong here.

What do you mean?  you're using windows to create the USB installer... I thought you already did that when I asked you to earlier?

yes i did a used the partition format that you told me about on an other pc running win 10 and plug the bootable usb to the main one
