Good deal?

I've wanted an r710 for a while now, seems like theres a lot of shenanigans i could get into with one. Then you can get 72gb of ram for about 200 and get a h200 or h700 if you want storage onboard. Or just use network storage.

You think that server would be able to run multiple VM's?

What are the vms doing? I have a dl180g6 with 48gb and 2x l5630's and it was running 12 vms 24/7 just fine.

Problem is gpu then. You have no gpu power on these servers. Id try this out on hyper-v in windows as thats probably your best option.
