"exploded" doesn't mean it has to combust like a grenade; all is needed is the housing to bust/pop open.

Explode: "burst or shatter violently and noisily as a result of rapid combustion, decomposition, excessive internal pressure, or other process, typically scattering fragments widely. "

How do Reavers clean their spears?

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.

When you "burst" a balloon, the fragments are deadly, correct?

What does "balloons" have to do with the definition of explode?  Burst is a verb that applies to many actions that are widely varying in there intensity and are context dependent.    If something explodes it is usually considered to have fragments projected at velocity from the point of explosions.  Burst simply means that internal pressure causes rupture, you cannot have an explosion without something bursting, but you can have something burst (like a balloon) without having an explosion.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

You have kinematics texts?  Well why didn't you say so before. Quick, someone call oxford university, we have a new definition for explode and burst and maybe even context is wrong too.
