is it possible to mine zcash with amd+nvidia cards on one rig?

Hi,

I have a rig with amd and nvidia cards. There's no dual miner like for ethereum so is it possible to dual mine amd/nvidia gpu's on the same rig or am I stuck with just using one gpu or the other?

Just use some cards in one miner, and use the other cards in a different miner.

You can. Miner software has parameters (or in-program commands in claymore's miner for instance) that allow you to set what GPUs the miner will use. Track the number of all your AMD cards and set them to ethminer, then set the nvidia cards to the zcash miner.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

I only have one mobo to use otherwise I would have already switched them.

If you're on genoil's miner, navigate on an elevated command prompt to the folder where it's located and type ethminer --help. Here's a pic

The zcash miner should have a similar help string.

I'm running claymore for eth and ewbf for zcash. I see claymore has an option to use only amd or only nvdia, but I can't figure out how to put it in correctly so I just disabled the nvidia gpu's manually. Any idea if running two mining programs at the same time would be a problem? I'm not seeing much of a performance loss either.

No reason why it'd be a problem, if they're each using separate resources

You should try bminer. I've been mining Zclassic with the nofee option and it has been faster than ewbf.
