Exo Player no VC-1 codec support?

Hi,

 

Just wanting to know if there is any code/script addon I can use so that Exo player can play VC-1 codecs?

 

So that I can direct play my lossless mkv files on my Plex app.

Not that I'm aware of, but unless you have a LOT of VC-1 files, I would transcode them into H.264 (or H.265 if your hardware is optimized for it).

Damn, I've have about 5-6 files.  I tried it on my android smart phone last night an it played through direct play. So weird.

5-6 files is very few. You could use Handbrake to transcode all of them in a single night, possibly, depending on the CPU in your computer.

 

Just add each file to the Batch Queue before you go to bed, and start it up.

 

Your Android Phone most likely can hardware decode VC-1. It's an old codec, but used to be more common when HD-DVD and Blu-Ray were first introduced.

VC-1 is such garbage, I'm glad it got dumped. Unfortunately it rears its ugly head around with some older blu ray titles.
