A new Desktop build with 8700K GTX & 1050Ti (low chance to upgrade later) or a Laptop with 7700HQ & GTX 1060 for 1080p Productivity & Gaming ??

Hey guys.

1. I finally have some budget to buy/build a new PC, but with spiking GPU & RAM prices, and my Limited Budget I can't get a Desktop build with anything more than a with 1050Ti with a 8700K, which I would like to have for productivity purposes (if those high freq 6 cores help with programming and light simulations) as well as 1080p gaming, but I would like to have AT LEAST a 1060 or higher as many of the TW3, Skyrim SSE & FO4 mods eat away VRAM and generally can't keep up, as far as I Know.

2. My budget is about 2000 USD (includes Monitor and all other peripherals), which, with HEAVY import taxes in my country, is not enough to buy a 1060 And they don't have any Prebuild with 8700K + 1060, at least not within the budget.

3.Anything close to a 1060 I can get are, 7700HQ ( Not 8700HQ ) laptops with a GTX 1060 like, Asus ROG GL702VMAsus ROG GL503VMAcer Predator Helios 300 G3-572 MSI GE63VR 7RE Raider.

So, finally,

Should I one of these laptops? or

Should I build a desktop with a 1050Ti? or
Should I wait til Computex 2018 ends to see if anything changes in pricing?

Thanks for reading all the way. :)

There are rumors that next gen nvidia cards are being released around April so if you can wait it might be worth it. You could always build the 8700k desktop with out the gpu and add one later when the new ones come out or the prices go down.

Building a desktop, in my opinion, would be better for the further upgradeability of the graphics card later when you get better prices on graphics cards if VRAM if an issue at 4gb then you might have to wait a bit longer till the prices start to go down again. If 4gbs is enough then this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/x7s8TW/msi-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-4gb-video-card-gtx-1050-ti-4gt-oc should be good for you and also if you are doing light simulations a lot then most laptops from what I have seen on this channel except for the new ryzen one pale in comparison to a desktop CPU.

Maybe something's cool down here?

Granted you won't be playing any decent games off the integrated graphics.

That is the problem, I might not make enough later to buy one even if prices go down, at least for a while.

Thanks but,
1. I live in a country they can't deliver from any of those sites
2. I'm not sure how long will it take me to make another budget to add in a GPU even if the prices Miraculously go down in a few days.
And lastly, I do or planning to do, mostly, android Virtual Device Simulation for app making and some unity games, so I'm not sure how much frequent that is.
PS. My current half broken 4200U works on both of these but takes a looong ass time to load or do much work.

Drop to the i7 8700 and you may have enough left over for a 3 GB 1060 if the prices are sensible in your country.

The 3 GB 1060 still wipes the floor with the 1050 TI.
