I do like the Linksys RE700, any recommendations?

Please let us know what you currently have for networking gear, including the full model numbers of your ISP modem, 3rd party router (if separate from the modem), and other information such as number of wireless clients, rough square footage of house, number of floors, roughly drawn floorplan layout, and location of modem/router currently.

Also include whether or not the house has a basement (cinderblock walls downstairs) and your reasoning for wanting to buy an extender rather than upgrading your existing router or buying real networking gear, such as Ubiquiti Unify AP's that provide an actual benefit to your network instead of being a placebo. I'm half serious - there certainly are some extenders that works decently, but I've had much better success upgrading and repositioning the main router or access point in most homes.

Forgive me El Guapo. I know that I, Jefe, do not have your superior intellect and education...

Hey hey, saw the post that you've since edited - just got busy with work. If you can, I'd recommend centrally locating your router since that Nighthawk is definitely a powerful unit. However, if a range extender must be used due to where things come into your home for the internet, I'd highly recommend getting one that operates over PowerLine Networking, since having a hardwired connection to another wireless access point is so much less congested than sucking in a wifi signal and repeating it.
