Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a laptop under $1.2k in Canada that is capable of playing modern games well with a discrete GPU, but also doesn't have the "Gamer look" in any way whatsoever. I will possibly be using it at day to do business in which I would be showing clients something using the laptop on a regular basis(Nothing against the gamer look, it just doesn't fit in to what I'm doing).

I've had a lot of trouble finding the exact thing I'm describing. I purchased an Inspiron 5577 laptop - the closest to the match I could find (it still had red "gamer details" but they were subtle), but am am sending back because the poor quality hard drive in it caused startup times of close to three minutes and long load times for initial launches of programs and games (Yes, I know, it's the era of SSD, but I have several older laptops from 2011 which actually boot Windows 10 faster than the thing so there is really no excuse. I have never, ever seen a hard drive that bad.).

So, now I'm back to the drawing board and am really looking to get something before Fed 22. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Cheers!

I wanted to do this! But was concerned about warranty complications, and perhaps by the obscure possibility that the hard drive wasn't actually the issue as well.

You may want to look into Sager/Clevo machines as they will offer highest spec without any "gamer" dna..just set the backlight to white~ in Canada it would be through Reflex and they come highly recommended. Its what I use for day to day and mine is de-badged and plain as day. This is a good option but they have many in your range~

The benefit also is you can do whatever the heck you want to the unit and they will still fix the problem within warranty period no problem unlike other brands sometimes.
