I'm building in the NCASE M1 and plan on switching the side panel for a glass panel for the AESTHETICS so I don't know about that one.

I might switch to coffee lake for when it becomes less expensive in the future btw and I wont plan on building a whole new system.

Yeah but I like to edit videos and photos but also love playing games like pubg so I think I can get a better usage out of CLake.

True, but for gaming cfl stomps all over ryzen.  I look forward to seeing what zen+ can do.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

There’s a better upgrade path with Ryzen

Tbh the upgrade path arguement has never swayed me.  It seems ridiculous to me that anyone would choose a platform based on the hope that a better cpu will come out that totally blows away what they had before - sheer stupidity.

With an expected 3 generations of Zen chips that may or may not support am4 (amd said they would keep the socket, not the chipset) and if we are charitable they can achieve a solid %5 gain every generation and maybe add 2 more cores to the ccx's making r7s 12c/24t chips.  Let's say they hit 5.3ghz as well.

Solid upgrade, right?

Yeah, too bad you just blew your motherboard up, because only 6 or so first gen am4 motherboards are capable of overclocking that kind of chip.

Good luck using ddr5 in your first gen mobo, and enjoy pcie 3.0 when the market just jumped to 4.0 or 5.0
