Are Prices Still Going Up?

This is just a quick question on the state of graphics card prices: is price still increasing? I'm wondering because I want to sell my 1080 for about $1000 and need to know if that is something that is/will be feasible. I'm willing to wait for prices to go higher as long as the market is heading that way, however if it has already peaked, then I'd like to know so I can drop my price and sell it while it's still high.

It seems to be taking a small downturn right now. Cryptos have gotten Hammered in the last week +. my microcenter actually has okayish pricing now. and looking at ebay Sold prices there comming down slow though. 

 

New 1080s Were touching $1000 USD but Used ones were more between 650-800 During the spike and sitting around 650-750 now.

 

 

I Like to watch the trend by searching GTX 1080 in Ebay Sorting the listing to 8gb Cards ( So it doesnt get Ti's mixed in)  and on the bottom left you can click Sold Listings. it will show you every single one that recently sold and how much. 

 

 

Theres no knowing where it will go. But you can look at where it is right now.

No one is paying a grand for a 1080. 

 

Thats what peope listed the 1080ti for. 

800 new is the 1080 price. 700 used. 

 

Only peope who don’t know any better will pay those prices though. 

 

Still better to sell it sooner then later

it's going to very market to market but I will say re-sell has kind of peaked.  Obviously amount of direct re seller cards is hurting overall pricing but I have noticed selling cards is a bit harder in NY since the people who wanted a card already got it or there are people still not willing to pay the large markups.  In the NY greater Tri-State region there are a good amount of people re-selling new 1080 Ti's on Craig's List but I am not seeing them being sold.  Additional Ebay is pretty flooded at the moment with cards but all at marked up prices.  I have found one of the only ways to unload a card is selling it 8%-10% above current manufacture MSRP.    

 

A month ago I sold my used EVGA GTX 1080 SC ACX 3.0 for $650 when I bought it for $545, so I don't think you can come anywhere close to $1000 especially if it is used.

I have seen them actually sell for $1000 on ebay. Not listed, I mean people bidding $1000+ in the auctions.

It's not going to happen now, but I have seen it happen in ebay auctions a couple of weeks back when the gpu mania was at its peak. I even saw a 1070 actually sold for like $1125.

Yea a couple weeks ago Bitcoin was still around 14k. Then the news blew it all out of preporsion and everyone and their mom went and bought cards. 

 

Worked out for those who got close to roi before that. Feel sorry for the saps that dumped into it last minute.
