Ram upgrade?

So below is my current rig, and I've noticed some issues with multitasking (Games and more) and memory usage lately. I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to buy another 8gb of the same DDR3 Ram, upgrade to 16GB of DDR4, or if there's another recommendation someone has.

 

As well, what site is the go to for pc parts now that NCIX is down, Newegg?

Honestly, I would buy more DDR3. 

The rest of your system is good enough that you don't need to upgrade your platform for a while. 
You can't put DDR4 in that system, so that's a no.
But if you can find more DDR3 to slap in there, your CPU/mobo/RAM should last a good few years still.
Maybe you can even buy a quarter of a GPU too! (prices be great...)

Just get another 2 4gb kit. Your cpu doesn't support ddr4 plus even if I did I wouldn't recommend going for it because of how expensive it is rn

You can only use 1 type of memory on this mobo. In fact most mobo are like this, it's back in some later Socket 775 motherboards when DDR3 and DDR2 are supported on the same mobo but not at the same time. That's the last time the same mobo can support different RAM type.

 

I'd just get another pair of 4GB sticks.

Why not see if you can get second hand DDR3  ram from free geek if there one near by. 

DDR4 won't work and also now your board is getting to the No support point.

Get the same frequency and latency ram. All the ram should have to run at the same speed so getting higher frequency ram would be a waste. Preferably the exact same kit of ram.

Try and keep it the same DDR3 that you have in your pc with timing and mhz but if you the cant find it close spec ram will do just make sure it does have it lower then you have in  already  :)

So, as everyone suggested, double your ram amount. But, even though you got a decent air cooler, could you please check and report back the temperatures you get in gaming and multitasking in general.

CPU (4790K) 4.38 GHz 1.209 V (no OC, should I look at OC?)

Max 75 (Gaming and watching youtube (Assassin's creed origins benchmark run)

 

GPU (Strix 970) 1114 MHz (default clock) 1253 MHz BoostShould I OC?
