So we are currently on spectrum's 200 mbps plan, but AT&T is offering a 25mbps plan that is $90 a month cheaper. we are usually stressing the internet the most when I am gaming while ether talking with friends or watching a youtube video at the same time and simultaneously one of my family members is streaming Netflix while another may also be watching some Netflix or youtube.

(basically one person gaming, voice chatting through teamspeak/discord, 3 or 4 1080p video streams, and some light internet browsing at the same time.)

Is 25 mbps enough for all that, my gut tells me no but I just wanted to check.

I have 20mbps in my apartment on optic fiber, I can only do one thing at the time. My ping when gaming is perfect, from 8-20ms constantly (cs:go, rocket league, etc..) But if i have people over as soon as they connect to the wifi everything slows down.

megabyte or megabit

25 megabit is minimum for my standards in 2018..

id say 50megabit is enough for your uses but that plan might not be good value

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

Netflix needs 5 Mbps for each HD stream. So yeah, if you got 3 or 4 going, there is your 20 Mbps. To me 50-75 Mbps is the min I would accept. Also, Cable Internet in my opinion is way better than aDSL and VDSL for that matter.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Good point. I forget, because I got a 1 TB data cap, so I dont even consider 4K streaming.
