Can i turn my pump side ways?

Go to solution Solved by Mick Naughty,

Should be fine. Ran two pumps sideways in this rig and the res is quite far but gravity doesn’t change.

Yes, so long as the pump can get fluid and you have fluid above the intake point then you'll be fine.

as long as the pump's bearing is submerged (or rather, plenty wet) you can do whatever you want with it.

the main issue of this sort of pump desing is that the liquid that flows trough it, is the lubricant it uses to keep going.

thats why they say not to run them dry, just like aquarium pumps, pond pumps, and the like.

well the res is right over it and the tube is going straight down to it and then doing a 90degree fitting into the pump. then the outlet is going into my first rad

Sorry i misunderstood.  I thought u had one of those reservoir + d5 pump combos.

If u had a reservoir pump combo, youd have to make sure the water level is filled higher than the pump inlet at all times.

If its just a d5 pump + "flow block" then no problem, So long as there is a water flow.

my res is above the pump and then the tube going straight down to the pump. the little red box by the drainport is the pumppc.PNG.28fd253295d60e8005a944db6ec3ceee.PNG

Doesn’t look like it’s going straight to the pump. When does it go to the rad?

Looks good to me.

Not a huge deal but, make sure you pump from the res, dont pump into the res.
