PC Headset Suggestion

Go to solution Solved by fragamemnon,

To be fair, I'd probably go for the HyperX Cloud. I have these at home along with a pair of Sennheiser HD650s and Sony MDR-XB500.

The sound quality of the HyperX is really quite good as they use very decent drivers /in fact, they're among the best gaming headsets SQ-wise/. The mic is not the cream of the crop, but still above average and nowhere near bad.

As far as comfort goes - I am used to very long sessions. To me uncomfortable/plasticky headphones are a definite 'no'.

To the point:

The build quality of the Clouds is very sturdy, they do not clamp the head too hard, the cups are circumaural, and the headset isn't too heavy. I am not aware of wearing them while I do.

Naturally, they have separate input and output jacks, and they come with an extender which is also a definite plus.

The boom of the microphone is soft, but lacks a mechanical mute switch.

Cable rubbing/rattling is not a problem.

You might explore the other options - I hear great things about the Cloud Alpha - comfort wise - but I haven't read it's tech specs and I'd reckon this headset to be at a point where wouldn't trade off sound quality for additional comfort.

Again, these are my $.02 as a person who puts sound quality above comfort, but is still intolerant to lack thereof.

Hiho!

I have been using a generic cheap headset I bought off a store nearby for a year already, it gets the job done but it lacks comfort, if I stay just a hour playing some game I already start feeling noticeable discomfort on ears and head.

Now I have got pretty much every thing for my dream gaming and personal use rig, all I am missing to have it fully complete now is a wireless gamepad, subject for another thread, and replace this cheap generic headset I'm using today.

Specifics:

Brazil has a shitty market since all must be imported so there can be plenty "common" options in the USA and such that are not available in here, if you want you can check https://www.kabum.com.br/perifericos/som-acessorios/headphone-gamer?string=&pagina=1&ordem=5&limite=30 for what is more likely to be available here if you want.

I am willing to spend around R$ 350,00 if you use the reference above, which is more or less 120$ US, have this as a starting point though as I can always try affording more if absolutely worth it in the sense of value.

Comfort is the utmost important thing I am after, I do not care any where near as much with sound quality, 7.1 thingy none of it, I am not demanding with audio quality that much I simply want something well known to be REALLY COMFORTABLE for extended usage above all things.

Last but no less importantly, do not suggest Razer please, I do not support shitty brands that only invest money on marketing.

Thank you kindly for y'all attention.

If comfort is your objective, are there any stores that have headsets in the open for you to try? Ultimately, you would be the one determining if a headset is comfortable or not.

Just throwing this out there in case the option is available.

Looking at the site you linked, I'd personally get either these: https://www.kabum.com.br/cgi-local/site/produtos/descricao_ofertas.cgi?codigo=91099

or these: https://www.kabum.com.br/produto/48862/headset-gamer-logitech-g430-7-1-surround within that budget, though in terms of comfort I can wholeheartedly recommend Steelseries Siberia V3 headset, I've got the Siberia X300 (which is essentially V3 with an additional XBONE gamepad dongle to connect the headset to it) and it's super-comfy. Sound is okay too, and they are relatively cheap here in Poland.

All of the above should be quite comfortable so whichever one you choose, it should satisfy your needs :)

Makes sense, I wasn't sure what stores are available in Brazil but I just had to give that suggestion.

True, and I'm in the same situation where I live in a rural town and the closest electronics store is about 30 mins away.

One of my buddies has this headset, it's not bad in terms of sound quality, it also has 7.1 and is connected via USB (some people prefer it that way) but sadly it's not as comfortable as HyperX Clouds or the Logitech ones, both should be better for you IMO. It seems like the price on Clouds is discounted right now in that store, I'd get that one ;)

Sorry I missed the whole headset discussion. But congrats on your choice. My friend has one, and she loves it. If you are looking for a game pad, I use Scarlett Crush to get my PS3 controller going on my PC. If you have a Bluetooth adapter or capability, it allows for Bluetooth drivers as well. I think they also released ones for DS4 if you have either PS3 or PS4. Scarlett Crush is super simple, and very clean. None of that install and advert garbage looked motion joy or those other falls DS3 applications.
