Any way to get windows apps to work without reinstalling them?

On my laptop I had to reinstall windows due to high CPU usage at idle and no obvious cause. I reinstalled windows and my D drive didn't get wiped so all my games are still on it including Forza motorsport 7 and horizon 3. Is there any way to get windows to use those files or will I need to reinstall the games from scratch? My internet is really slow at the moment so I really don't want to have to install 100GB at 50kbps.

Some apps would be loaded to registry so you would need to reinstall them again infortunately.

Did you use a Game Provider like Steam, Blizzard, Origin etc to install those games?

 

if yes, just install those clients and set your game drives to your games drive. Then do a rescan of the from inside the steam/origin/something client.

Nope, its through the windows store. I am also reinstalling GTA 5 using the disks but for some reason it is reinstalling the files instead of skipping them like it has done in the past.
