Hard drive noise problem

That doesn't sound normal.

Was the hard drive purchased used?

Take it back.  They'll replace.

That noise is pretty consistent with most wd caviar 800mb hdds

return the hdd to where you purchased it from

 

Noise coming from the hard drive, is not good.

How close to the hard drive were you when that was recorded? I have the exact same drive and that's how it normally sounds when the head is moving, although mine sounds slightly deeper.
