Powerline adapter > range extenders.

I had a huge debate in my head when I had to pick one out for our new smart TV. I have the same issue as you. I ended up buying this over a wifi extender (that's a powerful wifi extender) https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Powerline-Pass-through-TL-PA9020P-KIT/dp/B01H74VKZU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1517442534&sr=8-3&keywords=tp+link+powerline+adapter+av2000

With a range extender, you're still using Wi-Fi for your gear.

The powerline adapter from TP Link works like a charm. I needed the extra plug too. I bought it on sale during black friday 2017 for 99 CAD. That's approx 85 USD.

Should I get a powerline adapter? Its either this https://www.amazon.com/Zyxel-Powerline-Wireless-Extender-PLA5236KIT/dp/B01MYOFJK4/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1517441824&sr=8-4&keywords=powerline+adapter+zyxel or https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-N300-Powerline-Gigabit-2-Ethernet/dp/B010S6SFDE/ref=sr_1_8?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1517441952&sr=1-8&keywords=tp+link+n300

I'm thinking of using this for my xbox and my PC since my router is in the living room (In a one story house)

My test on wifi:

Latency: Around 50ms

Download:22.71Mbps

Upload:1.83Mbps

NAT Type (On xbox): Always moderate

Wait so the ones I posted aren't really powerlines? I thought it was powerline with a built in wifi extender.

You're correct. I just wouldn't use a range extender though if you can at least get wifi signal with your phone where xbox is. Also, there's the problem with conflicting wireless bandwidths so....

Ignore what I said about "With a range extender, you're still using Wi-Fi for your gear. " ~ I was being an idiot.

This link so far is the best one you've linked so far. It should be fine.  I'm not sure how your power cables are linked but it should be no problem too. I live in a townhouse that's on top of a commercial building and I wasn't sure how my power was linked but it ended up fine. I thought about it for a while though. Each of our individual units have their own circuit panels so we're good. You may want to check yours! You should have your own circuit panel and if you do, you should be totally fine.

Yea thanks for the advice, I like in a one story house so idk how the wiring would work for that. I just order the one you said was the best. Hopefully I see a positive difference
