Gtx 1080 but still drooping below 100 frames?

Kulak

So I upgraded my gpu to a GTX 1080 SC and I have it paired with my R5 1600 but i still seem do drop below 100 frames when playing ww2. Is it just a poorly optimized game or is something wrong or is it normal. I mean yes I do go as high as 170 sometimes. But thats sometimes. Most of the time I'm around 90 to 130. Although i have seen some 60s in there too. Also sometimes I'll freeze frames for a second or they'll get really low when playing. But it doesn't happen often. And bf1 on full graphics gets about the same frames from what I've seen.

What is the refresh rate of your display? It may be cpu "bottlenecking", a 1080 with an r5 1600 is a little bit imbalanced.

The refresh rate is 60hz. Also I've seen people online saying that the r5 1600 should work fine with a 1080. Even with a 1080 ti.

Lol if the settings are maxed I can see that happening But I assume you are also above 1080p. Game runs like crap but I don't know what the recent patches have done.

100 percent no bottleneck. I think he is just using a higher resolution display.

It will work "fine" as in it won't be incompatible. There may be operations the GPU is capable of doing that the CPU can't keep up with, but if your refresh rate is 60 then this is all irrelevant. Your display won't show more than 60 frames per second and having higher framerates than that will cause verticle tearing if you don't keep VSYNC enabled. Any FPS above your displays actual capability are wasted and you are better off locking your framerate at 60.

If its 60 then dont worry about it, also overclock that 1600 if you havent already. Recommended ram speed for ryzen is above 3000mhz
