Gtx 1070 vs 1070Ti?

My GPU just died on me. 

Looking for a GPU for 1440p gaming, 

All the GTX 1080 cards are out of stock. 

Only GTX 1070 AND THE 1070TI are in stock.

The ti is a slightly trimmed version of the 1080 rather than an upgraded 1070. So if you can get it for a decent price, you can overclock them very well and can get to very near 1080 performance.

Yep just checked ebay with worldwide shipping and there's plenty available.

some countries like mine have insane customs. I think India as the same problem.

given that he's buying extremely expensive cards I think the import fees are probably not a huge deal for him
