Need a new Monitor/TV

I was curious about getting a new monitor/TV, since my current TV is only a 15" tube. I have two monitors picked out (Samsung SyncMaster T22B350ND and Samsung UN22C4000PD). I was wondering if they were TVs as well, or just monitors. If they're just monitors, I want a TV that fits the criteria below.

 

SIZE: 22-30"

RESOLUTION: 1080p Full HD

INPUTS: HDMI*, Composite*, Cable, VGA/DVI** (*At least one. **Optional.)

PRICE: $300USD or lower

DISPLAY TECHNOLOGY (LED, LCD, Plasma, ETC.): Doesn't matter

COLOR: Black

 

I can't think of anything else, and I probably missed a couple things. But that's all that comes to mind.

I would get an IPS panel, there are many nice 23" IPS 1080p monitors out there for around $150. If you are willing to spend $300, would could even get a 1440p korean monitor, or a 1920x1200 Asus IPS monitor.

What do you mean? as long as it had HDMI it can be a TV.

My Dish box doesn't have HDMI out. That's the only reason I even need the cable input. :( I was thinking of using the HDMI out on my lowly Radeon HD 6570 so I can have more space to do things on.

theres bound to be an adapter out there for that.

I'd rather just have a native jack for it.

dvi to hdmi adapters work fine for 1080p monitors. If you don't need sound, but most monitor's don't have speakers  so you would need external ones... Also for 300 $ you an get a really nice tv- samsung models have va panels and some even have pls (ips) I think. LG has a bunch of tv monitors(some are even IPS)- I would still get a descent monitor ( maybe one of those new dell's P series) and a DVB-T reciever for your PC (these are cheap )

My video card has HDMI, so I wouldn't need a DVI to HDMI adapter.

 

And I need sound, since my computer doesn't even have speakers.
