M.2 NVME SSD for X99

KirbyTech

I have the MSI x99 SLI  PLUS motherboard and am looking to get a NVME SSD to make loading some things faster. What models should I be looking at? I am in Canada if that makes much difference on models (I know price will change compared to US or other places so $/GB not a concern here)

What specifically? If it's just OS, apps, and games just get a decent sata ssd since nvme ssds don't really help in those regards.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Well i'm not sure what you want to hear but it honestly doesn't matter what model you take. I'd personally recommend Samsung NVMe m.2 SSD's, like the 960 evo or pro. I've always had a pleasant experience with samsung drives (2.5" or m.2) so I'm currently still sticking with them. You can go for any drive tho.

Thanks I was eyeing them since my sata / current SSD is the 840 EVO and I have had no issues or problems in any way plus their software is nice. Good to see others like them too.

Samsung or Intel are more or less always the top dog.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious
