Help with ram purchase

Go to solution Solved by Princess Luna,

In my point of view you should go with the single channel since latency will be smaller which helps out with Infinity Fabric, gaming performance wise the difference between single and dual channel is within 2~3fps compared clock for clock, which is negligible to some degree, but then we weight the fact Ryzen craves frequencies and this 2666mhz module has better chances of working at 2933 or higher which would wield more performance increase.

The single stick solution usually is superior price wise which is appealing right now with the ludicrous pricings, furthermore you get way more room for upgradability, if you ever need a workstation simple throw another 1x16gb and a Ryzen+ 7 refresh and there you go.

Cheers.

Hey guys I am need ram to put into my Asus prime b350 plus motherboard. There are currently two options for me one single channel 16gb 2666mHz or one dual channel 2x8gb 2400mHz. I've heard that dual channel performs better than single channel but the single channel has a higher frequency and is 5 Euro cheaper. Would be nice if you could help me choose.
