Hi all,

I've been wanting a new mouse for a little while now and a Keyboard as well. My current mouse is t MadCatz R.A.T 3 and I've loved it. I've had it since 2010 and it's starting to show it's age. I know MadCatz recently updated their R.A.T line but I've seen some fairly negative reviews, enough to scare me off. I tried buying a Logitech G502 a few years ago but I wasn't a fan, it just didn't feel right in my hand.

As for my keyboard, I love RGB. I've got a Coarsair K65 LUX but I've had trouble with it, I constantly hit caps lock by mistake. sometimes I miss keys too. I don't know if the layout is different or what but I just don't feel as fast on this keyboard, it almost feels like the keys are too close together. I also don't really like 10 keyless. I need a num pad. I prefer blue switches, mine has red switches though. I've been thinking about getting a black widow chroma ( I know those are Razer Switches)

Anyone have any suggestions?

System: i7 4790K, Hyper 212 EVO, 16 GB Crucial Ballistix, GTX 1070 Super clocked, MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition, Corsair RM 750, Corsair 750D (with 2 additional 140mm NZXT fans up top for exhaust.)

i think the K70 can be found with blue switches, its a great board and the RGB is really nice on the LUX, the key cap font on the LUX looks like hot garbage though IMO. for a mouse what do you really want? lots of buttons like the G502 or do you just need side buttons? if you just want the side buttons the Steel Series Sensei is aparently pretty good

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I'm sure people will disagree with me but I have a Razer Blackwidow ultimate + death adder 2013 edition mouse.  Both have been flawless for the 2-3 years I have owned them. I play a ton of FPS games and they both work great for that.  I also really enjoy typing on the keyboard it may not be the "best" out there but its been damn good for me so far.

Cheers.

It's strange but I'm not a big fan of "bulbous" mice. The R.A.T has a pretty low profile. I might give the G502 a try though.

RAT series is one of those bulbous mice actually :D

How big is your hand and what is your gripstyle and budget?

Assuming that u have a large hand while waiting ur reply i'll give u some rough suggestion.

-Rival 310 (a great FPS mice with top end sensor)

-Rival 600 (a bit expensive)

-G402 (only if u dont care about sensor performance)

-Zowie EC1B (if u want a simple mice with good sensor)

-G502 (a big bulky mice with tons of features and a good sensor)

-Roccat kone EMP (a good mice with a good sensor)

-Rival 500 ( MMO mice with tons of button it also has a great sensor for FPS but its heavy around 127grams)

I am glad that you have had good experiences with Razer products, but many of them break. Look at Linus problems with the Blades he actually bought, not the review samples.

I think I made a mistake when I said G402, I believe I had purchased the G502 in 2015 and returned it, I think my issue was with the right side of the mouse where my pinky sat, it just felt weird. I have fairly average sized hands (roughly 5 inches from palm to the end of my middle finger. As for grip, well I don't really know, it's not something I think about. All I can say is that I have an MX Master for my laptop and I love it.

I did test out a Corsair M65 yesterday and it was a bit too narrow for my liking.
