WD Blue or Toshiba P300 (X300 if that goes on sale) at 7200RPM is what I'd recommend. Hitachi also makes HDDs, but they are just good enough, not a great product.

To me, anything but Seagate. Bought 4 of them and all died within 1.5 years. The nearly 4 year old 500GB one is still going fine though

Cinebench R15 Single thread:168 Multi-thread: 833 

SuperPi (v1.5 from Techpowerup, PI value output) 16K: 0.100s 1M: 8.255s 32M: 7m 45.93s
