NZXT Alternative? (Case recommendation)

Hello there!

 

I'm putting together a new build and although I really dig the NZXT H700i, its price is killing me. Especially in Canadian rupees, 250$CAN for a computer case is simply just too much for me.

 

I'm looking for something in either white or black/white as my build will be, well, black and white, with tempered glass (with a touch of RGB, but mostly white LED). I looked long and hard at the Phanteks P400s, but all I see on the web is how the ventilation on that case is not optimal at all. So I'm a bit confused now and I don't know what to buy, I need some suggestions from you guys. I like something with clean lines and a minimalist look - not the over the top cases à la Thermatake or Cooler Master.

 

Hopefully someone will have an idea, otherwise I'll simply get the H700i, but I would really like to buy something less expensive and save a few bucks - I prefer putting the money on the components.

 

Oh and I don't think it matters, but the new build will be: 

  • i7 8700k
  • Asus Prime Z370-A
  • Corsair Vengeance RGB 3200
  • NZXT Kraken X62
  • Corsair MP500 M.2
  • And some black SSD I didn't choose yet

I looked at that one, but I wasn't aware that there was a Special Edition in Black&White with tempered glass. We might have a really cool contender here, thanks for the suggestion!

Hi there !

Compared to the NZXT H700i ( 494 x 230 x 494 mm ), you can try the NZXT s340 Elite ( 474 x 203 x 432 mm )...

But you should go for the Fractal Design R6 ( 543 x 233 x 465 mm ), or the Meshify C ( 395 x 212 x 440mm ) from the same company.

I also looked at the s340 and it seems to suffer the same ventilation problem as the Phanteks P400s.

 

Also looked at the R6, but the funny thing is that I can't find it anywhere in Canada.

The Meshify was my very first choice after looking at Kyle, Dimitri, and Paul's reviews, but I checked to make sure and with the Kraken AIO + EVGA 1080Ti FTW, I don't have enough clearance, it won't fit :(

No SLI, just one GPU.

 

As for the cooler, I'll stick with the Kraken. I'm pretty confident it will fit with my mobo. I looked at various pictures of the AIO and from what I can see, the spacing on the ASUS Prime Z370-A is wide enough for the pump to not overlap on the first DIMM slot.

Yeah. If I didn't already have the older version, I'd get that version instantly!
