So what's the word on the street? Will the 8th gen mobile cpus such as the 8700hq have 6 cores like their desktop counterparts? I figured if Intel was able to add 2 cores to their U series they could also do the same with the hq and hk. You guys let me know what you know, because I'm clueless. I need to know whether or not to wait for the next raider laptop from MSI. I may just wait either way due to the upcoming cooler boost 5 for better temps.

According to rumours, 8th gen i7 45W chips are 6c12t while i5 45W chips are either 4c8t or 6c6t. They will arrive in February according to @sicily428

The i7 8750H will be a 6 core 12 thread variant, but the high powered i5's will only be 4 core 8 thread (they will clock higher than the i7's though)
