so i recently connected my pc to the big tv through the gpu(hdmi), and every now and then completely random .. can be 10 or 50 minutes the image pops out then reappears with distorted colors and black bars around the image .. it's really wierd .. i can rip out the cable and plug it back in .. that fixes it or .. funny thing i don't even need to touch the cable .. i can just diable and reenable the screen making the image refresh and it's all good ..

im really not sure why this is happening ... got any ideas? i don't think it's the cable as i can just disable the screen reenable it and it's fixed .. i guess i could always reinstall drivers, but somehow i doubt that's going to fix my problem, seems like it might be a software thing so maybe.

try a diferent sort of cable i mean not using hdmi but dvi becaus the port on your gpu might (MIGHT) be broken

well .. im already using dvi hdmi and displayport .. so.. yeah that won't get me far :P

also my tv has no dvi or displayport input ..

besides all i need to do is to replug the cable in the tv or refresh the image and it's fine .. i very much doubt the gpu port is broken.

You have another display to try?

im using 3 displays, sadly the tv is the only display i have that has a hdmi input, it's wierd .. it can work for 10 minutes or an hour, then suddenly the colors distorts and the image shifts slightly, it looks mostly blue and shrinks abit, remember those scart cables? or the analouge ones where you had one for each color red yellow etc .. it reminds me when you were missing one of the cables or it's not properly plugged in, it's easy to fix but i want to prevent it from happening in the first place as it's really annoying ..

i just don't see an obvious reason to why it's happening as it's a wierd glitch of some kind.

perhaps i should have mentioned that im already using 2 displays the tv is just a extra addition, for the most part it's working, but the image randomly craps out so i have to refresh or replug to fix it, it's still perfectly usable when it's distorted but i only got 1 color etc so .. yeah not really the way it should be :P

well that's the funny thing is.. i have played abit on my xbox (for the first time in two years) on the tv, and it has never glitched out like that, so the tv isn't broken either .. it might be a software thing? i dunno .. yesterday i did see the image refresh seemingly without reason, so there might just be a weak connection somwhere .. be it the gpu tv itself or the cable .. but then the problem shouldn't happen as it does .. i don't even need to touch the cable to fix it ...

could you try a different computer on your tv like your 4p rig but use the same gpu and cable
