Laptop for <$600 CAD

Friend is in need of a a laptop for under $600 Canadian - if possible <$500. She really only needs it for school and web browsing. Thinner the better.

 

Though, she absolutely needs windows for a program in one of her class labs. What are some options I can propose?

Lenovo's thinkpads are built like tanks and should last a while. Here is the linup of thinkpads under 500USD. Although like half those are Chromebooks.

If I use words like probably or most likely, it is because I dislike certainty. These words can probably be omitted and the sentence read as a certainty.
