https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qKsWnn  Thoughts?

Im moving over my hard drive from old pc

I am aware 8gb isn't enough for a ryzen cpu planning on upgrading that with more dims (faster though?)

1) budget is around $1300 but I would prefer to keep it near 1100

2) 1440p gaming and mild content creation

3) 2 one 1440p 144htz and a 1080p one

4) Ideas for mic in future (I would assume a blue yeti or a snowball)

5) pc is about two years old selling it to help build this one

Change the mobo to this one: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nvM323/msi-b350-krait-gaming-atx-am4-motherboard-b350-krait-gaming

You will want the stronger VRM to hold the power draw of 8 cores, especially when overclocked

Mid-range and high end graphics cards are out of stock everywhere. I know PCPP shows the price, but click on the link of the listing from the store and you will find that it's out of stock. At the moment, use the graphics card you have now for a while until supply comes back.

Also dont use the 212 evo CPU cooler. That's not better than the stock cooler by a margin worth its price. Either get something large like the NH-D15, R1, Dark Rock Pro 3 or Scythe Mugen 5, or stick to the stock cooler. The stock one will certainly be louder, but it's not that bad.

8GB doesn't affect a Ryzen CPU much as long as your video card has enough VRAM. The fact that you have single channel RAM will affect it a whole lot more. Welcome to the forum!

Changes I'd suggest:

  • Get a better cooler, like the H7 or H5 by CryOrig. If you can't afford it, use the stock cooler until you can.
  • Get dual channel memory, unless you plan on upgrading soon.
  • I'd get something better than a reference 1070
  • Get a better PSU. Something from tier one preferably, or tier two

Or go used. You can still find pretty great deals on the used market, depending on how quickly you can act on them.

If you're going to stick with 650 Watt PSU you should probably go for something a more efficient, and you may want to consider spending another 30-40 dollars on a case. That can bring some very nice creature comforts when building the system, i.e. more effective cable management, a more thought out design and fewer rivets. At that price point a lot of the case is likely to be riveted which ends up being quite annoying. I did the same thing and fund  a pretty cheap case and ended up only being able to remove the side panels, a little more modularity goes a long way
