My maximum screen resolution has increased

Go to solution Solved by geo3,

1280 x 1024 is the highest that will ever display because that's the number of pixels physically on the screen. Something messed with the your video settings and made it output a higher resolution which was then interpolated down to your monitors native res. Interpolation is why it was blurry. If you want higher resolution you need to buy a new monitor.

Hello,

My computer monitor had a max resolution of 1280x1024, however just the other day whilst in a game I was messing with the graphics and I somehow got a larger resolution on my screen. It was 1810x1448, this resolution though, makes all my icons tiny and a lot of my screen is really blurry. I was wondering how it is possible for me to get this higher screen resolution.

It's called downsampling, you aren't really getting that resolution, it's just generating an image with a higher resolution internally and then downscaling it to 1280x1024. You are still seeing a 1280x1024 image.

I'm fine with what I have, I just thought it was odd that I can choose to go to a higher resolution.
