1060gtx ryzen3 ?

NunoMBQB

Kinda tough cause I see very few things that you can scrap from your build to save a lot of money.  If you could invest a bit more that would be good.  The GTX card is way overpriced,  Try to find a 1070 for 400 or just under and then spend a bit more on the CPU to get you 6 Cores/12 Threads (Ryzan 5).  Save for more RAM, hopefully getting 32GB eventually, but 16GB is def recommended for video editing (if not 32GB).  \

Crazy how quickly things add up to ~$1,000.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WrD7D8

changed the motherboard to a better and cheaper motherboard(Asus Prime B350 plus) and swapped the Cpu from the 1300x to the r5 1400 cause it only adds about $15 more to your cpu price from your original list

EDIT it needs to be under $950 just saw that
let me update the list

EDIT2

list updated you are well under the $950 budget so unless you need that fully modular power supply and the gold 80+ i suggest sticking with the CX550m(semi modular 80+ bronze)

He can save some $ by ditching SFX and getting ATX PSU like the CX450M for example

True, you can save a few bucks, but the price of the machine is getting raised a ton by RAM and GPU pricing.

OP, are you opening to buying used from eBay or Craigslist?  I honestly think it would be a good idea to wait for this mining craze to calm down before buying a new GPU or building a new rig

Should get an R5 1600 + 16GBs of RAM if you're doing editing

GPU prices are back to being insane, Would highly suggest you save your money there until they're back to normal, just live a GT 1030 for now, a 1060/580 simply aren't worth $300, let alone more.

Also added a case with better overall airfllow.

a gt 1030 is a waste of money and a terrible value should never recommend something like that to someone, they are literally better off buying a used GPU than that card, a 1050 can be found for around $130 and is a better value price to performance wise than a 1030 is

for gaming it's great, for editing it will get you by until you can get a r5 1600 or r7 1700, its worlds better than the r3 1300x you choose and with a nice overclock it should be fine for the most part if you don't do anything heavy

I have no idea, I think it has to do with Ether jumping up in price to over 1k

Used GPU FTW,  a 1030 is equivalent to a 660 or so, but it is much much more effecient.  if 1030's were 60 bucks I would say go for it, but not for 90 or 100

It's a really common set-up if I'm honest.

It's not a bad way to go if you're a 60FPS/1080p gamer. I feel bad for you guys and your RAM prices though.

I know some people don't like going sued but I feel a 750ti would be a better bang for your buck. It out-performs the 1030 in some games.

ya i have seen 770s sell in my area for around $80 so it makes a 1030 even harder of a sale when you can pick one of those up

Feel like there needs to be a PSA (Public Service Announcement) Post telling gamers to buy last gen or older cards on the used market rather than going for the current gen overpriced stuff.  A 770 can be had for less than $100 and it outperforms a 1050 ti in some games.  Far less efficient and worthless for mining any crypto, but still a good card for most 1080p gaming.  There's a lot on YouTube to help you navigate the used market. How are you getting RAM for less?  Or are you saying that you already got RAM and are glad to not be in the market rn?

I built my rig in April of 2017 and RAM and GPUs hadn't made the jump in price yet.  I got a 1060 -3gb for $200 (You know MSRP)

The 1x8 is no bueno on ryzen. You're halving the memory bandwidth and it creates a ton of stuttering in games. Also why the CX450 when the CX550m is $35 right now.
