Is there any mining like zcash or anything that is good money to mine with the CPU?

Nope. It's either GPU or ASIC.

 

(technically CPU is still a thing, but it's just super inefficient)

if you have a time machine then CPU mining could be pretty profitable

Some CPUs mine Monero pretty well, though you'll have to look at benchmarks yourself for that.

Looks like 6700Ks output around 320H/s which may or may not be profitable depending on your power costs. I'd only do it if you already mine on your GPUs though.

Monero is pretty good for CPU mining.

my 6700k makes about 60-70 cents a day on Nicehash  at an added system wattage of 40-50 watts, so it's technically making money but nothing to write home about, I say if you have it to use use it, but don't go out and buy a more powerful CPU if your sole intent is to use it for mining, you'd be better off saving on the CPU and putting the money into better GPU's.

OP wants to mine a cryptocurrency using his CPU. Most cryptocurrencies are inherently bad at mining using CPU. Monero and a few others happen to work good enough on CPUs and GPUs.

Might be worth it for anyone who's already mining but as said above, don't buy a CPU for it as you won't ever reach ROI basically

I'll stick with my zcash... it is quite Well, cpu can just not be a miner.

What kind of hashrates are you getting on Ryzen? I haven't looked much into them

i'm not doing it yet, but planning a 1600 for my second mining rig that I will be building in the next week if you limit the cores so you only use 8 "cores" since the 1600 has 16MB of L3 cash some guys back in december where pulling 500ish whatever on XMR-stack earning 3 dollars a day when Bitcoin was just over 15k I saw a screenshot on a reddit thread, that should be about 2 bucks a day today, a little tweaking greatly increases the hashrates on Ryzen making the 1600 a very viable chip.

Update, with just a few tweaks (number of cores to 6 and the memlock thing) I'm pulling like 420H/s with the 1600 at STOCK speed (which is doing a 3.4Ghz across all cores) making around 1.60-1.70 a day.
