Trouble updating drivers for PS3 controller

I wanted to update the drivers for my PS3 controller so it would get properly detected in DS3 but whenever I select the driver to update to, Windows assures me the current driver is better and won't let me override it. This is not the driver I want.

Are there any security settings I have to change first?

Try to overwrite the current drivers.  Go to device manager on windows, then go into Human Interface Devices, find the driver for your controller and try to update them.  If that doesn't work: uninstall them (uninstall device), then replug the controller back into your computer.  That should reinstall the drivers.  If the controller still doesn't work your going to have to get someone else for a fix.

I had no issues with SCP; you can try that. Just installed it, was able to play Mortal Kombat Komplete on 2 controllers on my laptop the instant it was installed.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.
