And no when they figure out the way to make sli good then ill have it

this won't happen, sli is a gimick now, it used to be good and then over time developers realised most people only run single cards and stop optimizing for 2 cards, this will either cause: little performance gain or lower performance than one card or the game flat out wont run.

when SLI works, it works very well.

let me ask a question or 2?

1: Sit down and look at it from this angle, you will be spending $1400 to play like 4 games at higher FPS and bear in mind most games are leaning towards cutting SLI support completely.

2: Are you actually going to build this? It happens a lot and I understand if you're not going to build this but it'd be nice to say "I'm not going to get this but was just curious on everyones opinions."

The 8700K has no upgrade path. You know that right? And two 1080's won't give you better performance in quite a few games. It's a waste of money. As is that monitor.

what do you mean no upgrade path? Its the best for gaming asfar as I know when its overclocked and the monitor is good.

1. Bragging rights and will never have to upgrade I guess

2.I will actually be buying it

There is zero upgrade path. You cannot upgrade that CPU, unless you move to an entirely new platform with a new motherboard and CPU in a couple of years. As to the monitor, I didn't say it wasn't any good. It's a waste of money though as it's far too expensive for what it is.

Great, then go for it. It's your money, but don't complain when it turns out that in a year or less that there are better CPUs, that are also cheaper and can be upgraded.

It's about as good as you could get. Terrible value for the money though.

Also perhaps a single Titan Xp would be a better choice over SLI 1080ti.

Keep in mind, a year or two from now and the CPU will no longer be the latest and greatest, new video cards will be out, and SLI will be more or less, dead IMO.

Not sure where you're getting these prices either. Assuming USD, Strix 1080ti should be way cheaper, 1 TB 960 is way overpriced, RAM is way overpriced even in todays market, CPU is overpriced even considering the short supply, windows 10 PRO is way overpriced (even compared to buying directly from Microsoft!)An identical system could be built for hundreds less.

My bad, didn't realize it was AUD.

That makes a lot more sense.

Also yes, Titan Xp is only slightly better. Some say 5-10% depending on the task.

For the money, a 1080 ti is better. But if money is no object, Titan Xp
