Benq- No signal detected

About a week ago i upgraded to an SSD and I also upgraded my cpu. After installing my new processor and turning on my pc, I was  presented with the message on my monitor "hdmi no signal detected ". After a bit of plugging in and out and leaving it for 15 mins, my pc was back to normal and it was displaying and working fine on my monitor. Today when I turned on my pc, I was  presented with the same message. I did bit of plugging in and out and left it for a bit. After two hours nothing had changed. I then tried a diffrent HDMI cable and it didn't change anything. I then connected my laptop to my monitor using those hdmi cables and it displayed fine. My pc has no vga port so I had to use a hdmi to vga adapter to try a vga cable which didn't work either. I'm currently trying to get a DVI cable to see if that works. 

Any advice on this issue would be greatly appreciated

Update: I have now tried a DVI to HDMI cable and it still didn't work, now I'm looking for a different monitor to try out
